Are you planning to get married in the near future and are actually daunted by the expenses? Well, in addition to decoration, venue, catering, jewellery, dress etc, a necessary expense is that of photography. Obviously you would like to capture those blissful moments where you slid the finger into the finger ring of your bride and smile into her eyes.
But then, like everything else, wedding photography costs a lot and I will presently suggest ways to cut down on this necessary expense. Well, it isn’t entirely my suggestion. But then, it will work equally fair. These days, the photographers or the wedding photography agencies have devised packages that include all the elements of wedding photography that add to the overall expense.
For instance time spent clicking pictures, the number of copies printed and the level of albums created. A smart mix and match offer of these three have allowed them to create different schemes and packages and also told them a solution to asking the rather embarrassing question about the client’s budget of photography.
There is photography agency in Canada by the name of instant memories which has four packages on offer namely Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. All these packages differ on the time spent photographing, the number of prints and the style of album.
Bronze is the cheapest while Platinum is the most expensive priced at $2200. But then Platinum includes photographs from right up to the bride’s house to the church to the three dances and other events. Along with this comes the opportunity to get around 300 photographs printed and a classic album designed.

Does Music Industry Experience with Digital Have Broader Implications?
Due to bad example of US music industry’s experience with digital services, print and video companies are trying to avoid as much as possible because piracy can undermine the business. It is still not clear that whether piracy was one of the chief reasons for financial downturn in the industry.
According to the statistics, sales dropped by 7.2 percent, $18.3 billion to $17 billion in the year 2009. The music industry has been witnessing lower and lower sales since the year 1999. But sales of digital music increased 9.2 percent and now are almost quarter of all music sales.
Many think that problem for drop in sales is not due to piracy, but it is due to the fact that digital content is simply less profitable when compared with other forms. But same cannot be said about the iTunes which is biggest seller of music in US.
But if considered that digital medium was in fact the reason for drop in sales, then one would have seen not have seen digital media sales outstrip sales from pre recorded media in countries like United Kingdom, Australia, India, Mexico, Thailand and South Korea. And it should be noted that 80 percent of global sales loss is due to United States and Japan alone.
Few also suggest that reason for loss of music sales can also be attributed to rise in competition. Music lovers might also be spending in downloading mobile applications and games. so piracy cannot be blamed completely for loss of sales. And now a day’s people prefer buying single songs over complete album which also results in less spending in turn fewer sales.

Spanning the space, from the giant public companies to private digital startups
The majority of the players in the space today are private and small companies that didn’t exist a few years ago due to the presence of too many goliaths in the marketplace i.e. the GIANTS and the fear of fighting against them and losing the battle! The trend today is changing in favor of these small startups , however , there is very little financial information in terms of revenues and inadequate research to support the same, hence, making the matter too subjective.
It is also extremely difficult to compare these startups to giants like Clear Channel Outdoor , CBS Outdoor , and Lamar that dominate the marketplace and the marketspace with some real figures and adequate research to support them.
The subjective matter can gain more light if few questions can be answered and be discussed thereafter. The primary point of discussion would be the growing audience followed by unaddressed issues like ‘staying power of the company’, ‘the business helping to grow or evolve the medium, either through creating a new category or innovating one that’s been around for a while’ , ‘Whether the company is helping to consolidate the space, making it easier for advertisers to access the medium and deliver reach’ .
Having these issues addressed might end up creating fierce controversies but would definitely give us and the ‘competitors’ a deeper insight into the existing ‘battle’ and most importantly convey a very important message to both , david (the startups) and goliaths ( the giants) ,
‘ Keep your sense of “self” – you are your business’ greatest asset ‘
